Rick Schmeling is the Division Analyst at Green Diamond Resource Company’s Shelton office. Green Diamond owns and/or manages timberlands along the west coast, Montana, and the US South. Rick is responsible for their long range harvest plans, acquisitions, and other business analysis.
Rick has been on the EDC board for 6 years.
He represents the timber industry perspective and as a former resident and long-term Shelton employee, he wants to see Mason County grow. He says,” I like being involved in the great opportunities and ideas generated through the EDC.” Rick loves Mason County for its beautiful scenery, plenty of lakes and other recreation opportunities. It has provided him with many great opportunities outdoors as a forester, homeowner, and landowner.
Rick has been with Green Diamond for 26 years and says he stayed in Mason County because they are a good employer. He helps with the Olympus Rally organizing committee, which puts on a stage rally car race through Green Diamond forests annually, bringing hundreds of competitors and spectators to the area.
