Amy Asher spent her childhood learning to swim at Mason Lake and attended Grapeview Elementary before her family moved to Port Angeles. She was recently hired as Mason Transit’s General Manager in July 2021. Amy is thrilled to call Mason County home once again. She has been working with transit agencies and non-profit transportation providers across Southwest Washington since 2005.  She began her career in public transportation working with the Longview/Kelso/Rainier Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Southwest Regional Transportation Planning Organization as a transportation planner with the Cowlitz Wahkiakum Council of Governments. She most recently managed a small urban transit system, RiverCities Transit, for the City of Longview. She serves on the Boards of the Washington State Transit Association, the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB), the Washington State Transit Insurance Pool and the Peninsula Regional Transportation Planning Organization. Amy is looking forward to serving on the EDC board as she believes it’s mission is very closely aligned with Mason Transit’s.  She enjoys working organizations like the EDC as it helps MTA stay in touch with the changing needs of the county. Amy lives with her husband and ten-year old daughter in Union and enjoys fishing, big-game hunting, and hiking.
